hi guys,
my mum is looking at selling her vk,just not sure yet if she wants to or not and depends on how much she can get i suppose it comes down to...
was wondering if you guys would know some round about figures she could be looking at...
*she is the only owner, brought straight from GMH in 1985
*192,000 km's,
*garaged every time its not in use (and im serious, even if she is only home for a few hours it goes in the garage!!)
*every service has been done (has all log books)
*only modifications are a back louvre, mags and car alarm
*silver on the outside, all grey on the inside
im not sure what else you would need to know but any help on what she could get for it would be greatly appreciated!!! thanks !!
Need more info for example - 6 cyl or V8? injected or carby? SL, Berlina or Calais, A/C, power steer etc? Any rust, what is the paint like (even though it has been garaged) any pics?
thanks for responding,its an sl,6 cylinder automatic,fuel injected,air con,no power steering,no rust (that i can see anyway),
paint is still great,no bubbling or peeling anywhere, interior in excellent condition...will try and post pics today, busy fixing my vy today, radiator split grrrr.
let me know if im missing anything, but very well looked after, its been her baby the whole time she has owned it..i've never drove it,no one else has besides mum...
If it had less than 100k on the clock I'd say up to 5 grand, but with nearly 200k you may get 3,500 to 4k - IMO.
(that is if it's in immaculate condition, no dings and good original paint etc...)

i do remember, but when someone says "always garaged" it usually means the paint and panel is in good original condition. i dont see the point in saying "always garaged" if its had a full respray. i mean, whats the point of garaging it other than paint?
dude the paint was fine? apart from the ugly color..
and it was in good condition.. and it was allwase garaged.. actually it was in a garrage scince '99 under sheets.. and didnt get moved.
and it wasnt a full repray it was a closed door respray.. and i re did the bumpers at the same time.
and what do u mean whats the point
just because its allwase garraged doesnt mean its not gonna get scraches at carparks and everyday driving..
correct..!?
Correct .
*sigh* im not having a go at ya vk.jonno, im having a go at the use of the term "always garaged"
whats the point of keeping a car in the garage? to look after the painwork. saying "always garaged" means the paintwork is in top condition. there is no benefit to the engine/running gear/brakes/tyres/bushes/balljoints/windscreen/seats/lights/horn/wiring etc by parking it in the garage.
blaaaaaah. if it doesnt have immaculate paint there is no point to saying "always garaged" unless you are hoping that someone wont notice the fresh paint work (like VKC, he wouldnt notice)
My son just picked up an 85 calais injected 6 immaculate inside with some crazy paint on the bonnet all original for $2850. Next Project.
he he he. it never ends hey?
i am at my wits end with this stupid impala, but still i am looking at VH's or a licoln continental as the next project?!?!? wtf is wrong with me (us)
sounds like a lot of rubbing back to melong flat panels etc. but the missus has her heart set on one after watching 'entourage' and black too
worst colour to get flat.
(yes i know its off topic but topic was long gone)
What year model would you go?
(When I was a lid I had a Lincoln Continental model car, loved it)
Dude, love it, GO FOR IT!!!
one thing at a timegotta finish the donkey of a chevy first, then give my arms a year to recover from all the rubbing back.
