    Default Water in headlights

Got 2 new (aftermarket)headlights and installed them only to notice that one side has got a film of mist covering the inside of the lens.
One thing I did notice was one was a different brand name than the other.
I did everything right so can't for the life of me figure it out WTF?

"Aftermarket" and "one was a different brand name" could be your problem....

yeah its condensation. metho gets it out. you will have to remove the lights again though. make sure they are bone dry before you put them back together. if there is a drop of water in there, even a tiny drop, it turns into vapour when your lights are on for a while (they get really hot) and itll just keep misting up.

also there should be a drain plug somewhere on the back. from memory they have a rubber hose in a U shape. make sure that its in place, other wise itll just keep getting water in it.

I bought some aftermarket Chinese ones a few years back and within a year the silver paint inside deteriorated to black, the seals went and so water got in etc. Not happy. Finally got a genuine used pair off ebay for 90 bucks (bargain!!) that were like new and never looked back.

Yep TYC seems to be the way to go
The one that's goin into the trash can has got DEPO stamped in side,so is that saying something?
Just a foot note re the TYC is that it's been on for a year now with no probs.

you will prob find that they will always leak a little, even the genuine ones did leak as the rubber seal breaks down.

To "fix" the problem you need to let the water out drill a couple of 1/8" holes in the inner and outter front corners of the plastic of the light at the bottom right at the front. It wont be visually appealing but you will never have the problem again.

    cheers
