needing to know after pulling gear box out 5 ^$##**%$ times because clutch won't work, only to eventually find out that clutch pedal in car needs to be changed as *%^#@(! well. Does anyone know the difference in pedal lengths..... help please with either info on how to convert 6cyl. one or where i can purchase a V8 one....thanks
Did u use a new clutch? If so did ya adjust the pivot point bolt which the fork goes onto inside the bellhousing?
Also, yeah V8 pedal boxes are different. The V8 pedal box has an extra piece spot welded in which moves the pivot point of the clutch pedal to allow for extra travel I assume.
Also V8's use a different accelerator pedal as well. When we changed my VK wagz to a V8 and got it going, the pedal would be on the floor and the butterflies on the carby were only about 3/4 open. Changed to a V8 pedal (which again changes the pivot point) and all was good!

Dellow do one, but they want an auto pedal box as an exchange. I got one recently and they are a very good reproduction. For the exchange they will tell you it needs to be a V8 pedal box but the autos are all the same so don't worry about it.
The pedal is quite different and due to the pivot point location won't work in your 6 cylinder pedal box.
Here's a pic of the two side by side showing the pivot point difference:
Make sure it is coupled with the proper V8 thrust bearing and carrier from Holden (which is a standard V8 thrust bearing for the VB to VK), I only mention it as I suspect mind had been changed by a previous owner to try and fix the 6 cylinder pedal issue (unsuccessfully) so when I fixed the pedals my clutch wouldn't disengage at all.
The thrust bearing may be a different to mine if your running a T5, best to check if that is the case.
Danny8 is on the money too about adjusting the pivot ball to get the right throw.
Hi Guys,
Holy Thread Dig Batman!!!
I thought I would bring up this so people know what im on about.
I need to modify a 6cyl pedal box to suit a V8 setup, has anyone got measurements of the different pivot point on the clutch pedals?
Im in the midst of gathering up the necessary bits for a new car buildup, I have a 6 pedal box and I dont want to pull the one out of my VK to take measurements from, it took too long to put it together than to pull it appart.
I Know dellows etc are doing pedal boxes but I want to modify an original pedal.
Cheers
Scott
