VP rack into Vk issue

Putting VP k-frame into Vk including VP rack, how do you connect the rack up? i have a VL p/s intermediate shaft but the rack end is splined and the VP end is square, anyone know how you get around this problem? Or im i off to the engineers to get a custom end made.

the vk had power steer so why are you doing this

You need to fit the VN rack it is splined.

Photo shows VB column, Vl intermediate shaft, VN rack and fitted to VR K-frame.

Obviously the VP and VN racks differ.

Well i didnt really want to buy a different rack because my VP one is in perfect condition but if it has to be done................

red is spot on, i have a vp rack but have a modified vh/vs intermediate shaft. i got the vs rack end put on the vh shaft at the uni and a new uni at the same time.

I just put a VP K frame into my VH and used the VL intermediate shaft. I used a VN steering rack cos of the same problem youre having. They changed from splined to square connections sometime mid VP. So you will need a VN rack or you might also be able to find a VP with the spline too. The VP I got the Kframe from had a square one.
