    Default thinking bout buying a 5.0ltr efi for vk conversion

    if i buy one wth high ks and if it blows how much to rebuild it or reco am i better to buy one wth high ks and eventually rebuild or shop around wth one wth low ks let me know found one wth full conversion moter gear box tail shaft radiator and all wiring 2500 and done 270.000 ks out of vs

    whats your budget, how much horsepower are you looking for and how soon do you want it done?

    well id like it done now lol but i no thats not gonna happen i want it 2 be a good job but still not out of controll on the dollars so im willing to spend what i need to spend to have a nice ride and im not the best at cars but i no i want a v8 in it and have good horse power and some guts

    is 2500 a good price for a moter wth 270.000 ks and how much is it to get it rebuilt and reconditioned

    2500 isnt a great price. especially if its a rebuilder. i wouldnt hurry out to go get it. rebuild costs vary hugely as to what you want/need done. and can really add up if stuff inside it has been mistreaded.

    just a re-ring might set you back 500-1000 if you do it all yourself (200 ish for rings, 200 ish for bearings, 200 ish for gaskets etc) but that would all depend on if the bores were ok. my guess would be around 2 grand for a rebuild from a shop. 355 strokers are going for 4k to 10k depending on parts used.

    all depends on te engine and what needs doing to it.

    and then there will be:

    V8 springs/shocks
    V8 diff/axles/brakes
    extractors/exhaust manifold to suit 304 and full exhaust (the 6 exhaust wont cut it)
    fuel retrun lines

    and anything else i have forgotten

    ok cool well its a fuel injected 202 so dont need fuel lines got the v8 diff. whats a good price for 5.0 ltr efi moter and gear box wiring harnes and comp

    Cheapest way is go buy a wreck, I got a stolen recovered BT1 manual for just over a grand. Wreckers will try slug ya up to $1500 just for the motor.

    Atleast with a wreck you get just about everything you need.
