loud knocking noise from vk

hey all iv just baught a vk and it has a loud knocking noise i thought it might be from the fan but its not and my second thoughts are bottom end? or could it be a rocker?? i also have a video i will post any ideas/ test i can do will be muchly apreciated,thanks sam

It,s hard to tell from the video but,it sounds like a rocker. Take the rocker cover off ,start the car(dont rev the car or have the idle high or oil will go every where),then carefully check for any loose rockers.If it is not that it could be a timing gear tooth missing(you said it sounds like the knock is from the fan?).Also check the oil pressure

thats 100% not a rocker. either (hopefully) something wrong with a bolt on, i.e. aircond or alternator or its something far worse. rockers are a sharp tapping noise.

edit* having listened to it a few times it could be a rocker soz. crap vid is crap.

hey thanks turned out to be bottom end its gone now half out and putting a 3.8 in now
