found a VH with vn 6cly in it.. advice on engine mounts and interior

hey guys as some may know im looking for a vh with strait body
and i found one with a vn motor and running gear in it with a vn dash and
center console in it..

i would like to put the original motor in it! but do they cut the original engine mounts off?
i looked for the original mounts on the car but the motor takes up so much room i cant see
them and he said you just have to change the K frame..

with the interior, can i still fit the original dash and center console back in or what??

it has all the vn running gear too and was engineered ect ect,

i want to rip the all the vn stuff out and make it back to a SLE

No they just use a vn v6 kframe
so you just swap it back to an old one
dash should swap back depending on whether they butchered the car to make it fit

okay, what about running gear would the original still fit do you know??

yeah im hoping that they have not butchered the original mounts ect...

no everything from a vn bolts up the same so all you need to all the original running gear.
they may have butchered some interiro mounting points for the dash but its impossible to tell until you pull it out

Be easier / cheaper to pick up a SL/E than go to the trouble of converting it back. I would imagine that there'd be quite a few young fellas out there who'd love to get their hands on a modified (to VN running gear) VH - maybe try a straight swap?

+1, wouldnt it be a lot of effort converting it back? you should just fine a straight, original vh, or if you get this one leave the v6 in it. regardless of my opinion and anyone elses, its your choice OP so do whatever makes you happy and you will enjoy it

wells i have a hotted up motor to put in the car as well and also i have SLE running gear witch will be painted all up and stuff the converting doesn't really bother me much its just time!

i might be looking at another one today its just a rolling body, been sand blasted and it is in primer,
looking at the photos it has a big hole in the parcel shelf and a little dent on the front bottom guard and just a little bit of surface rust..

well i looked at the car today the one that was all in primer.. woulda got it but to much rust repair to do on it.. im gonna have another look at the one with the vn motor in it next thursday if they still have it soo yeahhhh

exactly! the way i look at it, you can put modern technology, e.g. efi, power windows ect into an old car easily, but you cant put old school character into a modern car easily.
