    Default box to choose??

    hey all,
    i have a vh with aussie 4 speed and standard clutch, the engine is vl black 308 stroked to 333, all the usual goodies, big cam, big carby, exhaust etc. but want to go back to auto for stronger driveline. any ideas for what size auto at what size stally? are they hard to fit and what other parts do ya need? and rough prices i would look at?

    also what can i do with the heads? rockers? porting etc? and cost?

    thanks, am able to do most things myslelf i.e. removing etc.

    your cam will determin what stall you need. dont suppose you have a dyno, or have a good idea where your power delivery starts? a 2200 stall is about 250 bucks, 2500 about 400 and 3000 about $1k

    i wouldnt port the heads yourself. too easy to f'k it up. get someone to do it for you or change to VN heads.

    yeh depends on your cam spec and also depending on how you drive the car, whether it be just a daily car or weekender.....if it's daily, probably wouldn't go over a 3500 convertor, but if it's just a weekender i would 3500 as a minimum and maybe 4000-4500 max as it's only a 333ci,.....the auto i would go for, which i have used alot is a trimatic full manualised. most of my projects i've put them in, only because i like to drive it on the street as well strip so a 3 speed is good for me.....and for the heads, go for VN heads and just get them match ported, don't do it yourself, get it properly done fella......everything really depends on you and what you want the car to be.....
