ok heres my problem i bought a reco blue 202 for my vh and i got everything connected iv checked it lyk 20 million times and i bought a new heavy duty battery and it wont turn the starter kicks but it dosent wont to turn theres oil in it. 80% of the parts on it are brand new it did turn once but didnt wanna keep turning (basicly the motor isnt turning at all nothing moves just the starter motor making a klunk when u first turn the key to the *ON* position)
check the main wire to the starter. if you just power the solenoid itll clunk, but if the bolt is a little loose holding the main power cable the starter wont engage.
ill try it tomorro when i have some more time
ok i got it cranking and almost fired im pretty sure the firing order is rite 153264 or something its on the intake and in my book anyways i think it wont firer because of the vac lines dose anyone know where the one from the dizzy goes or evan if they know the layout where they all go would relli help
one from the dissy is the vacumm advance you can leave it disconnected for now it wont stop it starting. usually i think its connected to the inlet manifold at the back behind the carbie

Hey there have you tryed using a screwdriver on the pos and neg of the starter make sure ignition is on
If that dosnt work put a socket on your harmonic balancer and try and turn manually make sure outta gear dse it turn?
its all good the motor sounds like it runs smooth but there is one problem its blowing smoke not sure why i think the carb needs a good clean or tune there is one other thing aswell before i pulled the old motor out it was blowing smoke the same as this one. My motor now has new rings so im just thinking it could be the carb the fuel/air has to be out or something
brand-spanking new rings? if so its prolly just assembly lube/oil etc inside the chambers burning off. it'll take about 20 mins to go away.
new rings gotta bed can smoke 4 a bit while u get carbon deposits in your hone marks
Making and running DUAL CHIPPED ECU SINCE 2010
Mate it sounds like all the ring gaps are in line.
i just ran my car for 5 mins and its still blowing smoke i didnt try reving it i just let idle on its own not sure why its like this Anyone got some suggestions?
what colour is the smoke?

its white smoke.. i was thinking of pulling the carbi off and cleaning it with carby cleaner
yer blue smoke it oil eg rings or valve seals are rooted but white smoke is fuel so i think your on the money
what carb is it a quady or vera jet
If its got an auto trans the vacuum modulator could be stuffed, which will let your engine suck the trans fluid out of your trans and burn it in your engine. Check that there is no oil in the vacuum hose that goes from your inlet manifold to the back of the trans. if there is oil in there then the vacuum modulator is stuffed.
