help please exhust vc commodore

hi to all,
i have 2 Vc commodores and im trying to make 1 really good car out of the two,i pulled off both exhaust systems and found all the best bits i put the exhaust onto my preferred car, but im having issues with the four studs that go to the down pipes,they are leaking air i have tighten them as hard as i can, any one done this job before that has any ideas ? is there some sort or sequence or knack to to the job? hope to hear from someone soon.

Did you use new gaskets? You will need two gaskets, a double gasket that goes onto the manifold under the butterfly, then a round ring type gasket that goes onto the pipe that is up against the manifold. Use silicone sealant on both sides of the big flat gasket and put silicone on each pipe. If you bolted them up dry with the old gaskets, they will leak.
