outer door handle

[vh sle !!!!!]

hi all

attempting to put outside door handles back onto my vh,
does the rod from the lock to the handle go through the hole in the
back of the handle?? or does it sit next to and put the clip over top?

any help would be good!

from memory throught he hole thent he clip goes over it holding it in place
