hey guys iv been under my car and i was unbolting the nuts on the tail-shaft and one of the nuts had ####ed corners so i gave it a shot but now iv conpleatly rounded the nut... not sure what to do i cant get a socket on the nuts im limited to a spanner.... so any suggestions?
grind/file flats on the rounded nut so that the spanner has something to grip on? and soak it in WD40 or similar
Sounds like you don't have much room to work, maybe grind or file a nice sharp edge on a screwdriver and using a hammer with the screwdriver on an angle try and cut or punch a knick in the nut, then using the screwdriver and hammer give it a good hit in an anti-clockwise direction and see if you can shock it loose a bit then maybe the spanner might undo it if you loosen it a bit using that method.
Get a die grinder and cut the nut totally off.
$2 for new nut and bolt.
Hammer and cold chisel to split the nut.
thanks guys iv got it now
