186 or 202. Which would you use and why.

Hey guys. Im stuck atm. Iv got a 186 and a 202. My current 202 in the car is old and really worn. Im stuck on which to rebuild (properly not just a rebuild kit) and put in the VK. Its got a 3 speed trimatic in it and will still have it untill it blows up (again, just been rebuilt).

So my questions are. What would you rebuild and put in, a 186 or a 202? Would you just rebuild the 202 and put the 186 head on and if i do rebuild the 186 will the 202 auto box bolt onto the 186?

Don't think you can legally put a 186 in a VK, Needs to be a minimum of a black motor. Don't recall ever seeing a Black 186.

So go the 202.

Black motors have a better head anyway. 12port head vs the 9 port red head.
The 186 will have the red head.
