Bonnet struts

On my vk calais, just wondering which bolt the bottom of the strut should attach to, coz i think it is on the wrong one, coz the bonnet doesnt open up the whole way

And the bonnet is also almost snapping in half.

I think its on the right bolt matt, just the struts r a bit stiff???

Well, the bonnet doesnt open u the whole way though, and it looks as though its as far as the struts will go. If they were on a closer bolt they mightn't be as stiff because of the angle

without going to look i think its the 3rd one up from the front of the car.what struts did u use? VB-VL wagon taiulgate ones are the go.correct length to line up with that hole and open completely.others r to short and need a hole drilling between 2 of the guard holes

I have my bonnet struts attached to the 4th hole forward from the back.

My bonnet opens and stays up fine, it actually opens slightly further than with the stay.

Which way did you end up fitting the struts?

the shaft attached to the bottom or top? I had clearance issues for some reason fittin mine with the rod down.

silver shaft bottom and the black part top

would any of you guys be able to take a photo of it? i need a new bonnet for the vh so might as well splurge on some gas struts.
