Hey guys, new to this forum.
just bought a VK "Berlina" and after a couple of hours of investigation, i realised that it doesnt have aircon, which berlina's came with standard. it does however have the courtesy lights and the front arm rests. Checked out the VIN (VK8VL19-213) and it says VK SEDAN, but the model number suggests a berlina? very confusing, was the aircon optional in the berlina's?
any ideas or answers would be appreciated.
Does it have power windows and cruise control?
by memory i think these were Berlina options
neither of those, im thinking it was a berlina, but for some reason they replaced the dash with an SL dash, not sure though.
Im pretty sure the Berlina came standard with power windows and Cruise control as an added option to the Exec's
You my friend have bought a VK SL exec .
Other things you can look at to distinguish between SL and Berlina...
Berlina will have Power steering
Electronic tune on the cassette player, and a power antenna
Locking fuel cap
vanity mirror in the glove box.
pretty easy to upgrade the interior to Berlina Spec.
but check the above list and see if you still get any NO answers.
it has power steering and the power antenna, and the vanity mirror.
still confused as to why the engine plate has the serial numbers of a berlina...
My first vk was berlina, had power antenna and power steering had aircon but didn't work so I pulled it all out. Your previous owner may have done tge same...? I didn't have power mirrors or power Windows. It was a 86 vk, not many made yours could be same sorta thing?
My vk exec has;
Air con
Power steering
Electric antenna
locking fuel cap
And auto tune cassette player
But no power windows or cruise control
So it's all optionable
ahhh ok, thanks for clearing this up, i was fairly confused haha.
cheers
