Question What to do with this VK?

Ive owned this VK for since march 2009, and it has been in my family since new. I got it off my grandmother for next to nothing since she doesnt have a licence anymore.

But i cant decide what to do with it, sell it, do it up, i dunno. it just sitting doing nothing and going to waste at the moment.

It has always been garaged since new until last year, it sits next to my shed under a water proof car cover these days so its not deteriorating at all.

Its pretty tidy throughout, interior is clean and no rips or cracks anywhere, the vinyl is lifting of the centre console a bit though. The body has no rust or dents in it anywhere, but the paints clear coat has turned white on the bonnet, roof and boot, its not really bad just has heaps of little blemish's up close.

So while it just sits around im just umming and errring with what to do with it. All ive done is service the engine and transmission, and replace the reservoir seals on the master cylinder as they were leaking a little. Everything else is fine.

    Any suggestions appreciated!

    Get rid of the stripes?

Pretty mint, inside and out, would be worth holding onto.

paint the stripes black and tint the windows!!! and just leave the rest... possibly get a cheap set of rims and paint them matte black and put them on it...those two black options might look alright.... thats just my opinion

Mate I'd hang onto it if I were you! Ain't too many in that condition! Look after it and in another 10 years or so she be worth alot! If you do decide to sell it let me know but def don't ruin it by changing it from standard or ya just be throwing money away! Plenty of average lookin vks ta do that too!

Personally, I'd keep it, and basically save up all your cash and just start modding it out. then when you hit your opens, you'll have a real beast to play with.

Depending on how old you are and on what license you have (green or red P's) you should have a fair bit of time to kill.

either that or you can apply fro a work license if you work in a trade.

there arent many unmodified early commodores left today. i would keep it orignial and make it as tidy as possible. if you mod it it will never be worth anything. original low kms will always be worth more.

detail it and replace anything thats cracked or looks crap and keep it 100% factory its too nice as it is too go modifying and it will be worth a lot more stock than modified, theres not enough like that left.

I have a set of stock steel wheels painted silver and some dress rims with centre caps that may look a bit nicer then the hubcaps, might fit them and see how it looks. Originally it had a set of VH SL/E wheels on it that the dealer fitted as an option when it was new. But the tyres where really average so i put the wheels off my yellow k on it. I dont want to spend money on it at this point in time, not on modding anyway, stuff it really needs i will. I havent got a shed for it there all full! But its not uncovered and its out of the sun for majority of the day.

please please please keep it standard. An original VK V8 will be worth a bit in years to come. I'd get the bonnet/roof buff if the clear is going a bit, but if that is gone you will need to respray the whole car. Replace LHR mudflap with factory item (they make the bastards now AFTER I spent $200 on a NOS ), de-rust and paint the brake booster, fit the original alloys when finances permit. centre console could be replaced with a blue item from an upmarket VH, these are moulded in colour and don't need vynil, its what I've done to the VB. mechanically go over it and replace anything worn out. Has the grille been painted? I thought they were grey. You could replace the HT leads with correct black items, and looks like your plenum chamber cover is busted.
