Thanks very much for that , just what I expected , that hole in my firewall have been filled and the bloke I bought the car from has a cable at the front to open the bonnet.

Looks like ill be drilling a hole.

    Cheers Davo

Got any photos of the set up you have? Sounds interesting. Wouldnt mind removing that from the engine bay to clean it up abit more.

I could get some for you but its simple man , the big hole has been filled and a crappy cable has been attached the the release and just tucked under the bumper. My engine bat is pretty clean but I am going to put the original cable back in.

Ah ok, i might look into relocating the cable then and check out some ideas. Or better, get another boot release

Id be interested to hear other ideas as well , but then again a bonnet cable isnt a big intrusion in the engine bay

That is true, but one less thing floating around. I was just thinking another boot popper and mounting it near the latch. Then you can hide all the wiring.

I just picked up a generic bonnet release cable from Repco and fitted it up with the knob under the front apron.

Most mower or motorcycle places could replicate it so you can run a longer but hidden cable through the inner guard and inside the radiator support..

Ive got two Bonnet releases on mine the standard cable and a small one that attaches to the bonnet latch via a push bike brake cable that sits behind the grille that you cant see...why two? have you ever had your bonnet cable snap i did 2 in fact and its a bitch so i made up an emergency one so if it snaps again i just pull the other cable mind you i havent snapped another cable but still if it does i can open the bonnet easy.
