Tips on removing outside door trims

Hey guys, does anyone have any tips on removing the external door trim peices that are stuck to the doors and guards?

the rubber? they are usually glued on. so taking them off means repainting

if you dont want to reuse them slide a scaper in behind and lift and edge, grab it and rip it off, else you can try piano wire or strong fishing line behind and saw through the glue

if i rip the trim off, will it bend the metal behind it? or just pull paint off?

it COULD do both. plus there is metal in the trim itself.

use scotts method. i use a razor blade normally and work my way slowly down, but usually ends up with slices into the paint.
