Rarest shadow tone VH SLE colours?
Sorry for all these seemingly stupid threads but I'm just a curious fella,lol.
So, which VH SLE shadow tone combo is rarest of them all?
What would be the most desirable?
You see a lot of blue/silvers for example but hardly see Cabernet/silver.
I might have access to a Cabernet red over mercury silver which needs a bit of work, it's also an original 308. Would it be worth restoring?

I think any V8 VH SLE would be worth restoring these days, provided it's a practical undertaking and not going to cost more than the car is worth to you. Any VH SLE is getting rare and the Shadowtones are not a common sight. If you can get your hands on it, go for it.Originally Posted by saladine1

Not a shadow tone but there was a metalic gun metal grey one with a dark grey interior which looked pretty good, but I have only ever seen it in promo shots (the one near the lighthouse..)

The one I mean is the black (or really dark grey) over silver with dark grey interior. The one that is pictured on the cover of the owners manual. Never actually seen one apart from on the handbook.
Anyone else seen one, or know the one I mean?

No, definitely VH. Got a picture of one here but I can't work out how to attach the bloody image....

i always thought the manual pic was dark brownish (like coke) over silver.

That owners manual VH, is Cabernet/silver. Interior would be claret colour. Just the light off the dash looks dark grey.
AFAIK, there wasn't really a grey interior in VH SL/Es. Just the blues/clarets/tan colours.

Yeah your right - the more closely I look at it the more dark claret in colour it is, as opposed to dark grey - funny I always had in my mind that it was dark grey, no wonder I never saw one....
Well, there's mixed opinions on rarest colour combos. I guess it comes down to personal preference in the end.

rarest ive seen is my mates grandads light blue over silver but it's interior was a mix of light blue and dark only saw photos at his 21st, but i did speak to him it was ordered that way from holden down near sale
most desirable imho is green over silver with green trim, the same mate had a green series 1 for his first car so comfy,
shame i got rid of mine was dumb didn't think there was much value in it blue over silver series 1 now i'd kill for one.
the Cabernet red of mecury silver would be a nice restorer as a classic crusier

Yes I quite like that light metalic blue over silver but not mad on the light and dark blue interior. I have seen the odd one over the years but not many. I don't think however, that I've seen the Cabernet / Silver combo - that sounds really nice!
Any1 got claret interior for sale. in need a few bits and pieces.
