Default VT Twin piston brakes onto a VC Commodore

    Hey guys

This question may or may not have been covered before, but i cannot find it on the forum.

Im currently doing up a VC Commodore and part of the upgrade is the brake system. I have acquired a pair of VT Twin spot calipers and front rotors.

My problem is that ive been looking on the net and have noticed that some people say that i need a floating hub for these to fit, Though no body says exactly WHAT front hub. I would almost asume that they would be the VT floating hubs, but i want to be sure before i go and buy something that i dont actually need or is the wrong part.

Any help would be fantastic! Also anything else that i need to know about the conversion would be also very helpful.

    Thanks!

I would fit the VE upgrade kit, I do them for $795. But if you don't already have 17"+ rims the kit won't fit.

Yeah, i already have the VT Gear, all new. How much better is the VE Stuff... just curious. I still need to know what type of floating hub i need... For the VT gear to go onto my VC.

Go to MR-SPARES on ebay, he has adaptor hubs for VT brakes for $350 + $29 postage. I have them on my VC and they are of high quality.

Thanks... also will these hubs change the offset? as i currently have some expensive 18" wheels going on in the orig VC offset.

Don't think so, I had 17x8 Commodore VY rims fitted with no trouble. Offset should be the same because the VT calipers bolt straight onto the strut with no modification needed. You may need different flexible lines, I fitted braided stainless steel lines purchased from the same mob.

The VE kit comes with the hubs. They are better than the VT setup because you don't need to change the master cylinder as the pistons in the calipers are smaller and displace less fluid.

They come with everything you need to drive away.

Hmm i wish i knew about the VE Kit before i bought the VT brakes. Ive spent about 400 on New VT Calipers and Drilled / slotted Rotors. And as far as i can see im gonna have to spend a further 350 on the hubs to fit.. so it will cost the same as the VE Kit your quoting.

Can you return the VT gear from where you purchased it?
