Can you paint/colour a dash??

might be a stupid question...but...can you paint a dash?...say I had a green dash and wanted to be black...can it be done??...just curious

I am a regular on dirt bike forums and similar threads pop up all the time but i am never rude about it!!!....I just don't open them and read them....relax....it is sunday....go for a cruise or something

you can but it doesnt mean you should! if removed from car and im assuming pre vt models, i tried once on my vb it didnt end well!!

Thank you very muck TIGEN3 I will take that on board, I didn't think it would be a good idea, hence me saying it was probably a silly question...I presume the paint would lift eventualy?
.I like asking questions (and answering if I can ) on forums...I find it good to be part of a comunity. If i wanted a stright up data base i would have gone to one
ari66 I am grateful for those links...they were very helpful....I just didn't think the comment about pissing of regulars was appropriate....especialy when it was the first comment i read and was hung over and cranky earlier this morning

my contribution: i did it to my center concole (only cos i cbfd doing the rest)
worked good, stuck fine, i scrubbed the shit out of it with a scourering pad soaked in wax and grease remover
put "plastic primer" on the concole and gave it alot of coats of VHT hi temp paint.. they ran out of plastic paints so i figured itd be fine(and it worked exteramly well)
and a few coats of clear spray paint

it will stick fine if your paisant(cant spell) and do it properly and give it a really good clean to get rid of all the armour-all and stuff people have used in the past off

yeah man, mines stuck for about a year and it gets alot of knocks and had alot of screw drivers/drills/scews knocking against it from pulling shit apart and installing stuff and hasnt scratched

use vht vinyl dye ,it redyes the dash,but prep it really well first

I 'painted' my VH dash with VHT Vinyl dye. Looks amazing and I do not have any scratching problems. Make sure you clean it well beforehand, and following the instructions on the can carefully in regards to drying time between coats. only do a few pieces at a time, you only have 10mins between coats.

I have also done the door trims and they look mint.
