12 months ago I bought a VK Calais for $350. I intended to use it as a power plant donor for my LH Torana as it was a manual.
The more I look at it and pondered over stripping it..The more I thought about keeping it. Despite never having an interest in the early commodores, a love afair was beginning.
12 months on and I still cant bring myself to dismantling it.
I now find that it is a factory 4 speed... LV2 M21 GU4 options...
It would be a very easy resto job (Respray, no rust to be seen anywhere and interior needs a good tidy up) compared to my torrie which will take about 25 grand and and about 3 years to do it justice.
What do my commodore peers think?
A: Restore the VK to is original glory and do the torana up later down the track.
B: use the donk and box in the torana and worry about the VK later on.
Finally..Is my Calais actually worth any more than any other regular VK Calais. I would really apreciate your comments and save me from useing the flip of the coin method...Snerty
what type of torana? normally i would say the torry, but if its a sunbird then forget it, just do the VK.
It's not often you will find a factory manual VK calais especially with no rust.
Bring back the old girl to her former glory....
Do the vk and sell me the lh.
