Default v8 extractors question, old commodores

i found a set of cheap extractors to suit a 253/308 engine, and they are off a HZ, will they fit a vc/vh 253 ok? they will bolt up ok but will they run under the fire wall etc fine?

    cheers

Any ideas guys if VN 5 litre pacemaker extractors will fit my VK. I've read that PH5700 are specifically designed for 5 litre EFI conversions on VB-VK, but does anyone know if these will fit also?

    Thanks

To be honest I'm not 100% sure, but they're currently in my donor car (VQ Statesman). Bloke I bought it off said they are VN extractors. I think with the PH5700 pacemakers though its not so much that it won't connect up, just that they are made to fit into the VB-VK (apparently its a very tight fit).

If the engine is from a VQ its fuel injected and there for has "vn" heads.

The difference is in the port spacings.

Not unless the engine has EFI heads.

Unless the VQ is running carby heads, I'd assume they're VN heads.....unless I'm reading it wrong.

The VN+ tube headers will fit when using the VN+ kframe, rack and VL intermediate shaft.

yeah mate the ph700's fit in! i just had mine fitted in my vh with a 5.0 efi motor. they sit pretty bloody tight and the passenger side only had 5mm clearance from the chassis rail...they had to be chained across to have 12mm gap. other than that they do fit

Considering he has a VC/VH 253, I doubt he would have EFI heads.

Ohhh I see. He's not using the heads out of his donor car (VQ), he just wants to use the extractors out of it for his carby motor?? Am I on the right boat now....yeah nah they won't fit lol.

Yeah I know aye....I should actually try it incase it isn't as easy as that! I never tried it that way, have just heard from multiple people that it's worked lol. At the time I done mine I didn't know wat worked, so spent $600 on a new set of pipes to fit VN heads in a VK lol.
