hey guys
i just put a MC6 in my VK,, just wanting to know what oil i would need to put in it??
cheer
80w90 gear oil.
something like castrol VMX80 works well, dont use anything expensive or you will be kicking yourself when it breaks and you throw the oil

I got curious so i checked the book, GM SPEC HN1046 SAE 80w/90. Being pretty old now chances are its a little worn so i would go the VMX 80 as suggested to help syncro operation, any of those oils would be fine, the quality of oil is a hell of a lot better now then what was a available in the 80's.
I have run VMX80 in Aussie 4 speeds sadly also waisted in it M76 5 speeds and it made even new boxes change much smoother. I built an aussie 4 speed that was a little notchy going into 2nd back from 3rd after changing to vmx it was perfectly smooth
