vk 304 needs a freshen up

hey guys i have a vk with a injected 304 the engine was out of a vn ss with 1900000kms on it so the engine is a bit tired would like to freshen it up a bit but don't have the money to tear it all down and do a 355 build so iam woundering what i can do / replace to freshen it up i was thinking

new timing chain
new injectors
get the heads cleaned up maybe to flow a bit better
get the manifold cleaned up
was thinking of putting a better cam in it i think a 280 or is it 260 ?
any other suggestions keeping it at minimal cost but also after a fresher motor any help would be great thanks .... fergo

also how much would a stock rebuild cost with maybe a better cam in it ?

unless your doing rings, bearings as well keep saving your money
