    Default Info and or specs on the 1980 VC Vacationer Limited Edition?

    Got myself an immaculate 1980 VC Vacationer. It was in such good condition that I couldn't not buy it. It had only one owner and has always been garaged. I was wondering if anyone could help shed some light on what options were included in the 1980 VC Vacationer Limited Edition, or if anyone else on here has one. Below are the codes from the plates in the bay that I think i've deciphered correctly. There isn't much info I can find specific to the 1980 Vacationer Limited Edition. It has the tiny little headlight wipers, which I thought only the SLE had. It does have air con but doesn't have power steering.

    ENG: AVCO28746M
    Engine number I haven’t been able to decipher yet. According to receipts the 202 was rebuilt 12 years ago at Higginbottoms and has only done approximately 20,000 kays since then.

    VIN: 8K69LA J726557C decoded as follows;
    8 = GMH, K = SL, 69 = Sedan, L = 3.3L, A = 9/80 – 8/81
    J7 = Melbourne J1 – J9, 26557 = Serial number, C = VC series

    MODEL: VC8VK69 =
    BODY: 726557M =
    TRIM: 1961-63P =
    PAINT: 567-31363 = Metallic paint, Cypress Metallic colour
    ENG: L14 = 3.3L High comp 202
    TRANS: M40 = Trimatic 3 speed auto
    RRAXLE: GU7 = 2:78:1

    Then there's the silver plate which reads manufactured/compliance stuff as well as the following, I was wondering if the numbers "31.34" mean anything in particular?
    31.34 Holden
    VC Commodore Sedan
    11/80

    I've seen a fair few VC Vacationers with headlight washer/wipers. AFAIK, was only going to be limited and in one colour, however i've seen white, blue and green version of them.
    Exactly how many built? My books of tricks doesn't say, just Limited build. Does say released in time for the Christmas holidays in 1980.

    BTW, there isn't any numbers after the model code?

    Im not sure how many were built either, pretty much everything i've found on the internet states "Limited Edition" which isn't helpful.
    A few sites i've come across say it was released in November 1980 and others say December 1980. Mine is stamped 11/80.

    The number you have as the engine number is the body number. It's the first batch of emmision (I think it's this) approved (the A) VC and body number 28,746 made in Melbourne.

    My bad. Too many numbers. Thnks for correcting me! The old engine no is #VL169124 and the rebuilt one is #VL120182. Pictures of the car and the ID plates/stamps should be here as a ZIP file: VC Pics.

    The REVS check PDF is obviously incorrect FYI.

    Rego papers list AVCO28746M as the VIN!

    there was a green VC vacationer for sale here in melbourne a few weeks back.
    I went & looked at it, price was $1500 with rego,
    was one lady owner, but it wasnt quite up to my expectations (maybe I was a bit to fussy LOL!).

    if the one you bought was the green one with roof racks & bull bar in NSW it was identical to this one, as I was looking that one too.
