Vk calais question

Hi guys,

I'm having a bit of trouble with my Vk calais and was looking for a bit of "guidance". My old girls a factory V8 (308) 84 calais and its recently started starving for fuel at the top end of second and into top cog. Now its got the factory intank electric fuel pump (renewed 3-4 years ago) but for the life of me I cannot find a fuel filter anywhere on the car. I've followed the fuel line from tank to carb and theres no filter and nowhere where someone might've removed one. Does anyone know where the filter is as I'd like to check this before I start replacing pumps???

the factory filter is a tiny little thing on the front of the carby. looks kinda like this:

the intake pump is rubbish. think they are only a low pressure pump i have heard something like 3.5-4 psi and quaddys really need 6.5 to 7 psi to keep happy.

Thanks man, was looking to add a Hi volume mechanical pump at some point but just wanted to sort this drama out first. Off to the garage I go...........
