Hey guys, im fairly new to doing up cars but i have just got my first poject car a 1985 vk commodore, i have got a worked 202 with a ozzy 4 speed in it and i was just wondering about a VL Turbo LSD diff for it, i have found one for sale and i was just wondering if it was a bolt out bolt in job to my vk body??? please help!
Yes if its complete disc to disc including handbrake cable then it will bolt straight in HOWEVER if you have a Salisbury diff you will need to change tail shaft to suit the borgwarner.
All i did was unbolt the vl rear half of the tail shaft at the cv joint and use vh/vk front with vl rear half worked a treat.

OH that easier then i thought it was going to be then, how hard is it to take the VL back half of the tail shaft off?
6 allen head bolts, but if it get vibration you will need to get it rebalanced.
keep in mind though that it is slightly wider too buy and 10 a side i think.
Also do you have disc rear now? in not you will need to change master cylinder aswell to suit the disc brakes rear.

Dose this mod fit vb 6cyl also..
cheers brad
No the 6 cyl Tailshafts are too small to join the VN shaft you will need the V8 Front half to join the VN rear half
Added some pics to attachments showing the different sizes of the 2 mentioned CV joints
where does vn come into it?
like i said i used vl 6 cylinder rear half with the vh front and it bolted straight up

I think possibly the VL rb30 n/a motor had the smaller diameter shaft but when I did my conversion I couldnt find one. It does kinda make sense to use a shaft that has the bigger uni joints, centre bearing and CV joint just because it is a stronger setup. You are making your task easier having an all aussie as the box is the same V8 or 6 at the tailshaft end. I am still using the VK borgwarner 5 speed as far as I know there are no yokes for them in V8 sizeVH 6cyl front?I thought they where a smaller diameter.
