Default procomp alloy radiator vs aussie dessert cooler

G'day, just wanted to find out opinions on the procool race radiator against the aussie dessert cooler.I wanted to fit it to my 253 and was wanting to know if any one has fitted the procool setup, and how it performs.
    thanks for any replies.

i have fitted neither but have spoken to a fair few radiator centers who have told me a few things:

alloy radiators on cast blocks dont last. you have to earth the shit out of them so that the water doesnt electrolise the alloy and eat away atoms at a time.

desert coolers (triple bypass) restrict the shit out of your cooling system and thus are not good for high revving engines.

everyone has a different opinion, but everyone has also agreed on the same thing: there is nothing wrong with a stock radiator.

More like Aussie Dessert Leaker. I wouldn't buy one of there rads. Not sure about procool rads, but if they are made by Procomp/Sydney speed supplies, i would imagine they would be cheap chinese rubbish.

Alloy rads are fine, provided your wiring is properly earthed.

cheers fellas, straight up that gives me a bit more info, its funny tho i never really thought much about replacing stock after repco quoted me $750 for a new one.I thought the price of a.d.c and pro cool were more appropriate at $400 odd mark.Anyway thanks again for info.

I know its not the same but my parents got a radiator for thier VY V6 from a NATRAD store in Brendale, was decently prices too, had no problems with it in the years since.

Store By State for locations in QLD. The guy at the shop knew quite a bit too so maybe pick their brains.

The main reason I went alloy was due to the cost. Cheapest new radiator I could find was $420 I rekon. And pretty sure my alloy radiator cost under $300....can't remember exactly. It's a chinese one though, off of a guy on ebay who sells a fair few. No drama's so far with it.
