VB/VC/VH spare wheel cavity

Hey all,

Another question for some help? I have recently seen a VH SL/X sedan I have been keen on to purchase however looking @ close inspection of the spare wheel cavity it has a metal plate pop riveted to the base painted black and a hole drilled in the centre.
Does anyone know if this was standard or is it a cheap rust repair job??

cheap rust repair job.

dont let that deter you. no big deal. just check under the parcel shelf for rust and the rear panel.

That spare wheel panel can be replaced with a panel from Rare Spares. It is $101.86. I reckon it would be difficult to get that panel out though with all the spot welds...
I have seen it removed, squared off with sheet metal and the exhaust run under there.

My VC has two tiny little holes in that wheel well, that's it!

Thanks mate, I agree though it would be difficult to replace....I have since found out the car was not what it seemed so the hunt goes on....
