Here is some pics for armchair experts to sort outna just joking but i am bit tired of being told VH VK ex cop cars should have BT1 on the plate! please correct me if im wrong but the only time i have seen BT1 on a VK plate was on a 6cylinder manual- i have seen quiet a few ex cop V8 VKs some SA ones with numbers still just visable on the roofs and none of em had BT1 stamped on the plates- if ya look at the pics the VH plate is obviously from an ex victorian highway patrol car and it dont have BT1 after the model where it go's on all cop cars from VL to VS - it has to be ex cop! the other pics show this- hole/wires in the roof the 220k speedo? manual SL 308 VH was not available to the public only SS? also the paint code d1008 (absinth yellow) was a government only colour at that time so yeh not a taxi aye
the other pics are of an unused GMH VH shell apparently one of only 13 built for racing (brock?) it was selling for 50,000 this year the pics of the 2 different VH cop dashes show one rev gauge redline starting at 5000 the other 5800 why is this?? i at first thought all SLE VH got this but am now unsure this is abit weird some 5000 some 5800 and only with the VH model who at holden thought 5800 was a good idea? i can just imagine a copper back then runnin the thing up to the red and dropping it straight into drive!

I have a VH8VK69-185 And have been told that it is an ex highway patrol car. Factory dual exhaust 253, High rise console, Had factory 4 speaker stereo (has a Fader switch next to ashtray) Sports dash with lo fuel light, Retractable rear seat belts,4 wheel disc brakes.Wiper dwell switch, Power steering . Factory towbar.Picked it up for a song and plan on bringing it back to original condition. Good luck with your resto.

It red lines at 5000 on the V8. My daily drive 202 vacationer has a sports dash installed out of a VB and it redlines at 5500. Did the Starefire come with a tacho dash.It probably reved out to 5800 being a 4 cylinder. Cheers.
