Default VN LSD wagon diff into VK sedan.

Hey, just wondering if any one could help me out, i have just picked up a wrecked VN wagon with a 5 speed and im looking to do a V6 convertion to my 85 model VK sedan. The wagon has got a LSD diff in it and i was just wondering if it would fit into my Vk sedan? and if not what do i have to change?

Apparently it bolts in, but is wider. That's what I was told on here a while ago when I was looking into it.

well too me even thought it only a slight differents between the diff's it dosnt mean that its not goin fit, if your not sure with yourself take off the wagon diff, jack up the vk rear end and compare the different that way you a have a fair idear of what your looking

I've also been led to believe the diffs are different. The shocks face in toward the centre of the car on a 25degree angle (roughly) as opposed to a sedan which has vertical shocks.

I don't know if this really helps but here goes...
a few years ago I watched my brother and his "mates" pull an LSD out of a VC wagon and try in a VH sedan... only to put the old single spinner back into the vh.

Definitely not a straight swap due to the shocky mounts, but if u got a welder and a grinder it wouldn't be hard to make it fit. But yeah it's also a bit wider so no good if ur gonna lower ur car.

Don't think you can. Apparently the VK BW diff is different to the VL-VS BW, housing part and axle locations.

Housing and axles wont make a difference as long as the moutns are the same.

VN diff in a Vk, Watch your track measurements as it will put them out by 37mm. If you can get axles to suit the carrier in the diff you can swap them out (Maybe a VL V8 diff and tail shaft), even your disc breaks will bolt onto the backing plates for the old drums.

to fit a wagon diff into sedan just press the lower shock rubbers out of sedan shocks and use wagon bottom rubbers, done it ages ago in my vc sedan. the only different is the sedan has the steel tube in the rubber and the wagon doesnt.
