    Default For SL/E Fanatics..

Wasn't sure where to post this since it isn't a question or problem but being a HUGE SL/E fan I thought I'd share this beauty with you. I saw this on my usual trawl through the classifieds and couldn't help myself. If anyone is intersted in what a rare commodore looks like this is it.

    The seats are factory leather.

I wouldn't pay it, but he might get somewhere near that.

Yes there would only be a handful in Australia in that condition.
They still don't command those prices though. I found an SL/X in similar condition (not quite as good and 120k on the clock, colour silver) for $6000 two years ago. I didn't buy it though.
If you could get this one for 10 grand, put it in one of those climate controlled airbag things for 10 years and triple your money.

Apart from the overall excellent condition and extremly low km's, there are two aspects of it that make it particularly rare, factory 308 and factory leather. I agree there is an element of fantasy with the asking price but you would be surprised at what original 5.0 VB's are fetching these days. I wouldn't be surprised if some cashed up dude buys it for somewhere near that money.

Problem is, is the kays legit? Remember, the VB-VH speedo's were a habit of stopping! Sure, factory 310 packs with low kays and leather, not easy to find these days. Some are getting more modded however.

This is not worth it either

thats very true... theres the old saying "theres always a buyer out there"...its a rare car indeed... but you would want to have it fully checked out before spending that sort of money on buying it...I still think its about 7 grand to much at 12 grand id say it would go especially if it was it is...it would be interesting to put it through shannons auction to see what it could fetch.
the good thing about getting older....more toysthe bad news more headaches

I like to see the sister, 308 pack go through Shannons auction. The 308/M21 combo version, extremely rare

they are both very nice vehicles,
it maybe bit early to ask those prices, but you never know.
it's getting hard to find good examples.

I just bought myself VB sle 5.0 (310 pack) for $1800 not quite as good as these, but is original & has original paint etc, it will tidy up nicely. it even came with another good complete VC.

The current unique cars value guide has this at $13k. I'd be more than happy to pay that for this.

As for the mileage, true, I bought my vb when it was 122k, however its speedo had stopped working, had way more wear on it than that....

Problem is with something like Unique cars value guide, only say VB-VH 5 litre SL/Es, don't delve into them harder. You have what i own, the VC 336 packs, the very few 5litre/th350 VH SL/Es, the T30 VH SL/Es, see the patten?.
