Gas shocks in front struts...
Hey guys need some advice please i purchased new gas shocks for my front struts and after reading the instructions on how to fit them. It says that i should pour 30cc of oil into strut tower.....(WHY) and what sort of oil!!!!!! Please help

Don't bother, never poured oil in when fitting replacement cartridges. What instructions are they? From the manufacturer of the struts you just bought?
yeah mate they are the instructions from the manufacture, Maybe i will just fit them and not worry about the oil !!! Just wondering why they would need you to pour in oil????

It is so they dont rust into the tube, I have never had it happen ever!!! I would smear some never seize on the nuts that secure the insert in, when I replaced the original shocks on my VK I twisted the securing nut head off the thread trying to undo them, took alot of work to get them out mind you that were 15years old and 200,000 on them.
