brake boosters?

i have just spent the day trying to get my 253 running ( has a holley 600 which is to big i no) and i heard a hissing out the booster, are most boosters the same ( vh,vk,vl.....) are the v8 boosters differant?
im guessing the vacuum leak would be one of the reasons the car is running like s@#t

Hey mate, I have also developed a hissing from the brake booster in a vr v8. Car is still running fine though?

is a 6cyl booster the same as an 8cyl both off a vh?

motor makes no difference. Its disc/drum vs 4 disc brake boosters. The 4 disc one is a little bigger.

My workshop manual which covers VB-VK shows 2 different boosters, a "Master-Vac" single booster and a "Master-Vac" tandem booster. It doesn't say which one does what. I have upgraded my VC brakes to VT brakes with disc brake rear end and only changed the master cylinder and used the VC booster, all works fine. So maybe the different boosters were for early and later models.

i have found a 6cyl booster cheap guess i will just grab that, i do have a disc brake rear end
