hey folks i have one for the mechanics out there. just had the quaddy rebuilt on my 5lt and it was going well. i reset the carby to retune it and now i have a motor that is dieseling after turn off and idles really badly. all ignition stuff has been changed and all vacuum lines are hooked up, so stuffed if i know whats happened.
motor running on after the ignition is turned off
timing out of whack, carbon build up in the heads.

Anitdieseling solenoid not working correctly, idle solenoid not bring back butterflys past idle setting.
My old sigma use to do this.
Is it also called pre ignition?
I'm 99% sure the quadrajet doesn't have an anti-dieseling solenoid, only the varajets.
but yeah I'd be checking for correct adjustment of the idle solenoid
the main butterfly on my carb dosnt evan close it stays open 24/7 lol i look at it and the links on the side that make it open and close are all messed up
Primary butterflys open too far, retune the motor correctly.
Id be going with timing as well
thanx guys for all your input. timing is no issue, it turns out that the mixtures were to lean and wrong adjustment on fast idle screw. reset it all last night and hit it tonight and started first crank and kept going which its never done. i normally have to turn the key at least 3 times. got lucky i guess. thanx again for your comments
