an easier check is to make sure the vacuum hose is hooked up to the switch. if no vacuum, then no heater fan. its a weird/strange/retarded/fked up system.

there are something like 9 vac hoses on a circular... thing. one is vacuum delivery from the engine. need to be full manifold vac.

The resistor block is behind the glovebox on the top of the AC housing near the fan. YOu can see it when the fan is removed, im pretty sure i pulled mine out somehow (theres only 2 screw) without removing anything but it was awhile ago.

They are a stupid setup, when i bought my car there was a small stick stuck in the fan and it was whipping around in there and busted low speed fan resistor.

    impala wins:

negative switched (took me a few hours of scratching my head to figure that out) 3 settings: on, slightly on'er and off. 45 years with the same core and same fan and still going strong (kind of)
