My saga to get my VK Calais going after it stopped a couple of days ago has been unsuccessful and I have spent all I am going to spend on it. So I am thinking I might just sell it and be done with it. Photos of the ole girl attached, a few more available. Any ideas of value or where would be the best place to advertise it? Any help would be appreciated.
Cheers

Where abouts are you located and how much are you after?
I am in Riverstone, NSW. As for how much, I really have no idea, I'm looking for suggestions on that too..... My problem with the car is being detailed in the VK Calais won't start thread in this forum![]()
Problem with the car and the reason for considering a sale is here: VK Calais won't start!!!
Hard to say not knowing what exactly is wrong with it and I can see you have put a lot of effort into fixing the issue without success. Best guess $1,500 to $2,000 - maybe. The rest of the car looks pretty tidy and a good detail will help with the sale price. If it was running maybe $3,000 - $3,500 if everthing was in order.
Trading Post and Car Sales.com.au are probably the most widely used classifieds. I believe people use ebay to advertise whole cars for sale these days also however I can't say I have looked to buy a car on ebay myself.
Good luck with it.
Thanks Derek, good info to know. I actually do plan on getting this thing going, I need it for our second car while my wifes car is off the road. My hissy fit and sudden desire to sell it was borne out of frustration. I have finally deduced, by trial and error, the problem is fuel pressure.... there is none even after installing a new pump and filter.
The ole girl will get a major cleanup once she is going again, still alot of Dads old stuff in there. At 81 with failing joints he couldn't do everything needed to keep it really good although he did keep it clean and tidy. I haven't actually found any rust yet although I admit I haven't looked that hard. It was garaged the whole time he had it and has been car covered when it wasn't.
Cheers
