VH SLE 2 tone blue/silver codes

just looking for some help with the codes for a vh sle.


they are

model- vh8vx69-382
trim 1981-27y
paint 1b 002-b
built may 82

eng-l31
trans- m40
axle- g70


mainly after the trim code as i have found out 382 is a 308.

getting ready to rebuild this car and need to know if its worth chucking money into it.

all help appreciated.

L31-308, M40- three speed trimatic, G70- 2.60:1 ratio. Yes the 382 denote its option pack, 5 litre and all bells and whistles.

any idea about the trim and paint codes?

i have found out the 2 tone sle in the earlier models only had one code and the later models mid 82 getting 2 codes.
havent been able to find out anything regarding the trim.

i took a few pics with the rubbers pulled back from around the doors where to 2 tone shows. i think someone would of had to go through alot of effort to completely strip it jus to paint it 2 tone, this is what makes me think its original also the interior has the 2 different colours with the darker blue down the bottom or the door trims and the lighter velour up top. i have only ever seen this colour combo once about 15years ago on an sle. is this common on the blue/silver 2 tones. also the plates say its a 308, can anyone help and confirm this is. as i think it looks like a 253. maybe somewhere in its life it had this put in for some stupid reason.

I can't help with trim and paint codes, haven't learnt that part yet. The interior is original, you could optioned two tone interior colours or just single shade.

I owned an 83 Blue over silver SLE back in 87 and the blue colour was a lighter colour blue. Looks similar in colour to the SLX at my local wreckers.

SL/X didn't have interior velour door trims - they were vinyl with a darker thick god leg stripe in the middle (from memory). I'm pretty sure the engine number of a 308 starts with a VT and the 253 VH (??).

VR engine prefix for the 253 V8s in the VB-VH Commodores. Also, late VHs with 308s may also have WT engine prefix.
