    Default VH door question

Heya...am looking at replacing my interior with an SLE one.....thing is I am not sure whether every thing will line up correctly. If I do it I will have the sle locks provided.....so the pop up ones will obviously go. I will also be considering installing the power windows as well......so...will it all be OK???
Thanks in advance....yes i did a search but got to page 20 and couldn't be arsed going further
Oh...I think my VH is an slx...hard to tell

all the trims line up fine, if you have the pull pin internal locks you'll have to change your door rod setup for the slide type internal lock.

power windows will all go in fine but it's a major pain to redo the rear door windows... they are on a stainless wire/pulley setup instead of the scissor type of window reg the fronts use.

If you have trouble replacing the rods or break the plastic connecting parts, they are all the same through to VL.

If you use the sle rod's, they'll have a spring loaded switch in the middle of one of the rods so when you turn your key, it'll activate the central locking, beware, this switch caseing is usually stuffed, and you'll break it trying to get it out 9 times out of 10 if it isn't already broken anyways!

Edit: forgot to mention, I've never seen a door that didn't have all the necessary holes already in place for the different options/setups... I think holden must've either planned the change to slide locks etc or the european car the vb-c-h commodore was based off probably had already used both types of internal lock setups etc.....

something to add when it comes time to do the wiring you can locate the marks on the doors and pillars for the wiring to go through by little punch indents in the steel, from memory it was a 22mm holesaw to cut the holes.
Else all doors are universal and have provision for any combination of locks, sliders etc.

My first rear door took about 4 hours to setup correctly with the power windows gear, after i had done a few i got it down to about 30min

for your fronts try to get 85VK or VL regulators & motors they are steel VS the diecast of ealier models and work much better.

    cheers
    Scott
