    Default boot won't stay up

    hey guys

    my boot won't stay up on my vk commo, just wondering what do i have to buy to fix it? boot struts or something?

    any info appreciated

    Don't the VK's run a spring like the later models, under the parcel shelf? Something might be loose or broken under there if so.

    Nearly right champ. They have long rods which act like a spring. A prick of a thing.

    Thought so, it's probably fatigued over time and snapped, or a bracket holding it has.

    I snapped one of my pins.
    I got some more I'm gonna pop in tomorrow.
    It's annoying but with effort u can get em.
    Why not try some gas struts ?

    When HDT fitted rear spoilers esp the Group a rears they used to use springs like a small tramoline spring fitted to the hinge and back to the body they looked really bodgy but mine still work great, gas struts can be used but the ones I have seen tend to make the boot sit slightly funny when closed due to the pressure on the hinge

    i just fitted my gas strut to my boot today cos the old pole thing snapped when i got ran up from the ass.
    10 minute job.. cos u about 10,20 bucks
