hey guys
my boot won't stay up on my vk commo, just wondering what do i have to buy to fix it? boot struts or something?
any info appreciated
cheers.
Don't the VK's run a spring like the later models, under the parcel shelf? Something might be loose or broken under there if so.

Nearly right champ. They have long rods which act like a spring. A prick of a thing.

Thought so, it's probably fatigued over time and snapped, or a bracket holding it has.

so i either replace it, which sounds like a pain, or i can upgrade to a better system?
When HDT fitted rear spoilers esp the Group a rears they used to use springs like a small tramoline spring fitted to the hinge and back to the body they looked really bodgy but mine still work great, gas struts can be used but the ones I have seen tend to make the boot sit slightly funny when closed due to the pressure on the hinge
