hey im new to posting stuff but here goes
ive just recently finished fitting (squeezing) an ls2 gen 4 from a vz into my vb
backed up by a T400 auto and a ford nine inch with a detroit tru track centre
with 3.7 gears i had to drop the power steering rack down flush with the k frame for clearance
issues after that i used extractors and a starter motor converter from c.a.e automotive
all seemed to fit in without to much hasles great challenge to overcome and glad to be
driving it
Very interested in seeing pics mate sounds good to me

hey mate awsome to see some pics of this conversion done finally as im just getting ready now to put my ls1 motor and l460e out of a vx into my vh i just had a couple of questions for you hope you dont mind and im not expecting you to answer them if you dont want to but i was wondering about the radiator and the bracket it looks like you have fabricated what radiator did you use was my first question and i was also curious about what you said about dropping the power steering rack down flush with the k frame i was under the impression that useing a vn/r/s v8 k frame and steering rack with the vl intermediate shaft would solve any issuse there is with clearance..is that not true or did you use a different k frame and steering rack??
I know I'm being a bit of a grammar nazi here but can you please incorporate full stops and paragraphs it your posts. You have asked some good questions but it is deadset painful to read. I had to go over it several times to figure out what you are saying. I did a quick edit of your post (below) which took all of thirty seconds and is way easier to read.

VZ SS 6ltr 6 speed silver
VN 5ltr 5 speed Gold (Ex NSWPF Highway Patrol)
VH EFI 5ltr Supra 5 speed tiger mica
XC Barina SRI 1.8ltr 5 speed silver
Sorry mate, the only conversion I've done is an injected 5 litre and Supra 5 speed into a VH, appart from a few things that's a straight bolt in.
I'm not a grammar expert either, just a tradie. Chucking in a few capitals, commas and fullstops aint that difficult!

Hey bud
I don't mind answer at all I bought the radiator from a place in Victoria off eBay just look up vb/vc/vh radiator, as for the mounts I chose to remove the old ones due to cracking and also I could mount my tranny cooler of it
I moved the power steering rack to fit my extractors past the power steer rack on the drivers side, I never thought to go later model k-frame but after you mentioning it I may look into it. I never used the 4L60E tranny that was standard with my engine, I thought they were to long and wide for the transmission tunnel and for where the cross member mount. I hope that helps ya mate
hey mate what convertor did you use with your turbo 400 is it a th400 convertor or is it a custom one. what flex plate you using.

Hey good idea with the mount for the radiator and trans cooler might put it to use myself...
the k frame question was a good piece of mind for me as ive just gone out and bought the vn k frame steering rack and vl shaft and after reading what you posted and having already fitted your motor thought i may have wasted my money...which would have sucked as i one of the guys on here posted that pacemaker are doing extractors for the conversion and should be done in a week or two and would rather have a set of them hanging off the ls1 than parts i cant use...
Yeah im going to fit the original box as i have it and will save me a few bucks instead of going out and getting a whole new t400 i was having a look around yesterday and cae do a crossmember for the conversion but still cant get a definant answer off any one on if it fits in with out any cutting/mods ect
RE: OFFT4P
i used a 3000 rpm stall convertor and an aftermarket flex plate i had to space my flex plate for the left hand starter convertor
RE:gen3_vh
yea i used a set of extractors from cae automotive wich they said would be a bolt in fit but i had to move my power sterring rack for more clearance
so i never bought there crossmember form them i just made my own up all the other bits i bought from them where spot on and easy to deal with, just by looking at the standard gear box i thought they wouldnt fit so i cant help ya there
This would be a dream conversion for me..
I'm curious to the total build cost?
