depends if you're using an 80L vs tank or a 60L tank.

I had to drive for a year with home made straps untill i found brock or vacationer long range tank straps for my 80 tank from a VR SS.

i think you've got an 80L tank in then.
With the 60L tank i used to have a tow bar on the SS with 3/4" clearance from the tank. Couldn't fit it with the 80L tank in.
When you go hunting at the wreckers, ask for a "vacationer" tank straps. If you let on brock is the same..... you'll pay thru the teeth.

Im using the VK straps on a VS 63l tank, the VS tank has strips of insulation shit where the straps seat so they were both absolute pricks to get the bolts started, i would have removed the insulation but i had rego due and my old tank decided to leak conveniently a week before so it was a rushed job.

Just been out for another tinker around, the strap are still a inch or so short, but the tank is sitting perfectly in the right spot, also i havent hooked the filler neck up yet, how much do i have to shorten that by?

    You can extend straps

With the 80L tanks from a car with IRS one strap fits the other one you can graft to your original end and weld it up then bolt it in, I did mine about 5 years ago still going strong.
