    Default imperial / metric

    I've just finished putting in my new carpet but.. The LAST screw I need to put in, has rooted itself.

    I'm not sure what it's called so please excuse the following;

    Is the hole which the seat belt holder/clip thingy goes it, metric or imperial thread?

    I did a google and it said Holden switched from imperial to fully metric but I couldn't find what model they switched at. Thanks.

    Pretty sure it would have been metric by then

    Take out one of the others that aren't rooted and go down to a bolt supplier.

    Otherwise measure the diameter of the bolt to the top of the peaks (this will be slightly less than nominal)

    Then if it's metric you measure the pitch by the distance between the threads along the bolt. If its imperial by the threads per inch. There are multiple pitches available at a diameter and you need the right one, or it'll strip the bolt or hole straight away.

    I wouldn't be so sure it's metric, the bolt on the floor in the back of my vs wagon was imperial. I got a longer one to hold my sub box down.

    More than likely be 7/16" UNF, just check it threads in easily (with your fingers) before you put a tool on it
