sump guard/protecter

hi everyone, i was looking through the forums and i couldnt find any info on sump guards, more particularly for a vk commodore. ebay searches turned up empty and google only hinted that certain bt1 models had sump protecters, but not where you could get them or how to make them. so my question is, where is a place that i could get a sump protecter for my vk commy, or is there anyone out there that can make one or even provide a template of some sort so i can make my own. the reason im asking is ive now lowered my car 2" and im paranoid im going to smack my sump on something and be stranded in the wilderness =S thanks for the help in advance.

very rare item, not really valuable just not comon, your best bet would be to take a BIG piece of carboard and a pair of scisors climp under the car and cut out a template for a sump guard, take it down to a sheet metal place and get them to cut one out of 4mm plate

That looks identical to the one on my 5 litre VL, so you might be able to source one from a VL.

oh that sucks, I didnt realize that they weren't common. Yeh that's sound like my best bet is to see if I can make my own, as I doubt any will be sold on eBay any time soon. Thanks for the info guys.

I was given one when I had the VS years ago. It was made for the job and bolted straight on. It was made from very heavy metal. Before I sold the car close to 10 years ago I took it off and sold it on eBay for over $100.00. It was immaculate and looked like brand new. A very good thing for the VS that has an alloy sump.

Hi mate i have a sump and tranny bash plate from a BT1 304. Unsure if it will fit but PM if interested.

They are a thick and heavy metal. Mine have some battle scars but that is from doing its job. Coat of paint and it'd be brand new.
