    Ah, it depends. When I sold my last car, I wrote out a bill of sale after seeing the cash, and signed it, then took the cash, the buyer took ownership of the car, on the bill of sale we wrote car taken AS IS.

    If that isn't written on a bill of sale, or if there is no bill of sale, whatever happens when transporting the car is the buyers responsibility. Unless it's obviously been willfully damaged, burnt, kicked etc during the transportation process.

    It shouldnt matter who owns the car. If you damage it by running into something, then you should be responsible. i know i would be hassling him to fix it. Even if it was my mate in a car i'd owned for 10 years, id tell him to fix it for being a dumb c*** lol

    In that case, fibre glass will fix it right up, as long as you do it right! And if you choose to glass it, WEAR PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT because the worst thing to get on you, is fibre glass.

    Best way to do it, is to fibre glass behind the crack & position it etc. When the fibre glass is all set and good, give it a sand if you want, but since it's on the back, who cares. Then, smooth over some bog on the front, sand it down, give it a bit of a wiggle to simulate driving motions to see if it holds, if not just smooth some more bog over it, repaint and wham bam thank you ma'am!

    Depends on the car.

    VK = Yeah - entirely.
    VL = Nope - epic write off. Crush the entire car and do the world a favour.

    Its a writeoff mate :P

    Yes its fixable, take it to a panel beater that has a plastic repair kit its basically a special glue it works great, the kit is about $60 trade but does a fair few bars etc.

    You could fit a new bar centre but the moulds are hard to get on and it takes alot of work to fit them up properly as they arent the same as the originals.

    cheers

    Rare spares has bumper sections for the VK - bolt on, bolt off. Saves potentially botching a DIY repair....

    I guess you have never fitted a rare spares one then

    They are far from being exactly the same and if you use a rare spares one you must buy a complete bumper the original ends wont line up properly.

    In terms of responsibility if it happened before the reciept was written with as is where is then you accepted the damage.

    As above just get it plastic welded. There's a place in Auckland that specialise in it. Assuming there would be similar where you are.

    Not really mate, if you know someone that knows how to plastic weld then go for it, if not im sure a Panel beater would most likely charge stuff all..
    And the fibre glass stuff isnt too much mate, maybe 20-30 bucks maybe less cant remember. But thats your best solution, atleast thats what id do.

    Goodluck!
