This may be blasphemous to some, so sorry in advance.
I have found an RB30, gearbox and diff and pretty much everything else i'd need to go into the VH. It is at a very good price.
How much effort is involved in the conversion?

get the VL engine cross member with the steering rack if you haven't got it all ready. Besides that its pretty straight foward to fit it in.

A lucky owner of 2 SL/E Commodores, a rare VB SL/E and a 2 tone VC SL/E. Just need a VH SL/E and have the set!
corssmember is all part of the package

My question is WHY??? These motors had head position some inch or so higher than the radiator line! Therefore, if you're not vigilant at keeping an eye on your radiator levels (something that can be a constant hassle no matter what small bodied Commodore you drive) the next you know you're up for another motor cos you've just blown your head! This is due to the fact that if your cooling system has just one air leak, water can't make it to the head as it has to defy gravity to get there in the first place. Better option..... 308 or 304.Originally Posted by vh-holden

Just for reference if anyone reads this later on blah blah.. You'd need to fabricate a whole new exhaust system thingy as the floor pan is different in the VL to the VH (cat sits under the passenger seat)..
