Gets guys just wanting to get your opinion on what brakes would be best to use on my vk its on 15's atm so o don't need anything huge just looking to upgarde from stock any info you could give would be appreciated plus if you'ld already done it would love to hear how it turned out
Cheers vbred very helpful and the pic was helpful also, I'm running vn suspension on it atm that wouldn't be an issue with anything would it?
Cheers Caleb
Also what's your opinion on the sloted rotors you can get I think their kangaroo paw would they be something to think about?
VK and VN suspension is basically the same. Mine is the same as the VN so it they fit no issues. Slotted rotors look cool but I do not know if they are more effective.
slotted rotors help reduce glazing and allow for brake gases to escape
Cheers krisp will def look at getting skirted rotors and thanks vbred for clearing that up for me
Hi mate,
DBA 4000 Series (Australian made) Kangaroo paw to suit VK are $181.50 per rotor in slotted. Alternatively street series (which I'm not 100% sure are Kangaroo paw, and would have to check when everyone reopens) are $99 per rotor in slotted.
As far as pads go, I'd go QFM HPX, which are a Bendix Ultimate equivalent, but low dust and rotor wear. $79 per set front or rear.
With regards to upgraded hardware, I wouldn't personally do the VT upgrade on an earlier Commodore. I'd look at something like the VE kit which doesn't require a master upgrade, but requires min 16" rims:
VE Twin Piston Upgrade Package suit VB-VZ Commodore!!!
The VT caliper is a definite upgrade, but isn't that great... it's got a decent amount of flex, plus has too over sized pistons for most applications.
Any questions at all just let us know!
Regards,
Greg
