VN V8 K Frame

Hi Guys,

I'm about to commence the conversion of my VK to an injected 5 litre. I have completely stripped a VN SS and have all parts basically and was wondering if the K frame will fit into the VK?

Yes, bolts straight in.

If you use the VN rack, you will have to use a VL intermediate shaft as the rack sits lower than the original.

does the vk k frame take the 5ltr to?

The K frames from VB-VK are the same for 6cyl and 8cyl. The later K frames are used because the rack mount is lower making more room for extractors.

what options do you have if you use the vk k frame in regards to headers etc?

when i done my efi v8 into my vl i used vn k frame with vl manual steer and with hsv headers.

will hsv headers fit into a vh factory 308 with vn heads without messing about with racks and kframes?

Dont think so, the steering rack head sits right in the road of the later headers.

Pretty sure pacemaker sell conversion extractors that suit VN heads in a standard VB-VK 308 bay.

Pacemaker and Hurricane do them. The Hurricanes are cheaper though and easier to fit.

How much can u get the hurricane's for? We're bout to put VN heads on a 308 in a VH and was gonna chuck a VN kframe in it so we can use the VN extractors.

Apparently using the VN kframe, rack and extractors is better coz there's more clearance between the exhaust and rack....and that vb-vk kframes with aftermarket VN style extractors dry out the seal in the top of the rack.
