Question re: VH SL/E Original Colour

Hi,

I have just bought a VH SL/E as a daily driver which will eventually turn into a long term project.

Have researched the numbers and am a bit confused.. can someone confirm the following details means it was originally dark blue shadow tone?

Trim: 4005-29Y
Paint: 2J-011-D

The car is currently 100% dark blue but it shows signs of a respray at some stage of its life..

Any help would be appreciated!

hi, i think the 2j-011-d is the code for mercury silver. often the 2 tones only supplied the silver paint code as commonly found on the "a" and "b" series vh.some of them were sprayed the top colour by the dealerships, not only factory. the 4005-29y is indigo blue velour. so putting the 2 codes together it would be safe to assume you have an original 2tone, just unfortunately resprayed.

Option V6Q is shadow tone on VH
and paint/trim combo 4005 =
Indigo/Mercury with 29Y which is Indigo velour trim

Indigo production paint code is 1981 or 1B002
Mercury is 2J011
